Humanism is the third wave of psychology. First, there are psychoanalysis. Second, came behaviorism. Third, was humanism. It was a reaction to the mechanistic model of behaviorism. It said “Wait. We are more than reflexive responses or reward schedules. We are people. Thinking, feeling humans. Let’s celebrate being human.”
